Does anyone know how the altitude in Denver 5280' plays out in heads? I know that we generally used smaller cfm carbs 650 vs 750 because of the thin air. Does it make since that the smaller valve 308's would work better up here also? I'm thinking the velocity vs the volume would especially work better where the are is thin.
Thanks!

Put the biggest valve in the engine you can fit and get the air moving. It is the cross sectional area that will control the velocity. The 308 port won't be to big of a volume for a 273.

Thanks! Just when you posted this I was talking with a friend on the phone and he said almost the exact same thing. Suck as much air as possible through the heads and then manage the fuel mixture with the carb.
