ok what you think about this budget build anyone done it or have an opinion. 340 bored 40 , 360 crank with the mains cut down, srp rods, kieth black pistons, bout 10 to 1, voodoo hydralic 513 -533 lift, ported j heads with nailhead valves, 273 rocker gear, rpm air gap, carb shop carb, 4 speed . 391 gear, some used parts put together what you think:blob:

what pistons are you using? ...340 .040 is 4.080 bore...

with the 360 crank..you will need piston with a 360 pin height...and 4.080 bore.

kb 107 they suppose to fit right in , may have to stay with 4.07 bore, they used to offer bigger bore have to see how it cleans up:blob:

Yea, you can get off the shelf pistons for this, not so years ago. Budget stroker, the way we did it in the old days. The build looks good. Iron headed limited though, still, you can do real well.

yeah i thought they used to go to .100 but must not have hopefully clear up at 30, :blob:

Hi,I have a 340 duster and its 60 over, ported iron heads, just fitted a .498 lift cam,750 holley, shift kit reprogram 727 and 3.91 rear was going to change the crank but didnt cose the crank was exturnaly balanced and you have to get the balancer and convertor/flywheel to suit the new crank.not all 340s are the same.I just got mine going so not sure of hp yet but feels alot better

he is putting a cut down main bearing 360 crank in a 340 block...he will need to either get it internally balanced....or use a 360 balancer and weighted flex plate...

Buy a stroker crank kit. Its a no brainer. Until you get that crank cut and rehardened. Then get one off pistons. You will have more invested. Just my opinion
