340 stroker build will this make our goal

I'm guessing from the launch you hit your goal of 10.7???

Well not on that pass,I chickened out and lifted a little as the track disappeared out the windshield, lol:steering: and a little bit of miss in 3rd but still hit 10.81@ 121.
Added some jet to our little 750 and stuck it out on the next launch 10.71@ 119 coasting through the traps hitting rev limiter.Made one more pass raising shift point from 6500 to 6700 but still hit chip but another 10.71@ 119 coasting through finish.

I've ordered up some 4.10 I just hope it does not kill the launch or et,the converter is a bit loose from what I had hoped,i'm thinking the engine may just like the 4.10 with the extra torque grunt from this 4.0 stroke and i'm thinking maybe a 850 carb may get a little more out as well, just was amazed it hooked up it was great!!!

I bet what you will find is that the car runs about the same shifting anywhere from 6300-6700. My 410 stroker ran 10.7's most of the time @ 124mph (with a best of 10.5). The extra stroke made it so I didn't have to wind it up too high. I also run 4.10 gears with a 750 dp. Awesome car, I bet it only gets faster as you tune it.

Now I just need to hurry up and finish building my new motor...I'll probably post a thread on it soon.

Nice runs. Put a bigger carb on it, it'll like it.

Yea my intent was to be running about 6500 but the converter is only dropping back to 5800 on the 2-3 shift and taching out in 3rd,i was wanting it drop back to about 5500 but oh well,so it sounds like the 4.10's i ordered should not hurt me at all, don't want to go backwards and hopfully let me keep it around 6800ish through the traps or less less, thought about 3.91 but did not want to kill the launch, what did you rpm with the 4.10 and what size tire?

yea i'm thinking an 850 but not in the budget to just buy and try, trying to maybe borrow one, what do you think gain with the 850,a tenth and 1mph??

LOL! Yea man! That is the whole thing.
MONEY!!!!
I wish I could just buy and try the world of parts. That would require another wearhouse for me.

I have Hooiser drag radials (275/60/R15), if I recall correctly they are 28" tall. I think I was hitting the traps around 6800 RPM if memory serves (my rev limiter is at 7000 RPM, and I never hit it....well, I never hit it down track, lol.)

On my '71 340 back in 1986 an 850DP was 2/10ths quicker than the 750DP it came with.
Stock block, stock 2.02 heads, DC.590" solid, HS Dominator int., race hdrs, 4.30's/4200stall
max rpm 6300....I think you may gain as much.

I skimmed through the thread and couldn’t find it
What transmission are you using ??
Never mind I seen it

I just can't bring myself to drop the coin for an 850ish carb and have it run the same, now if i got a guarantee it would pick up .2 i'd be there quick.

still running good but still have this naggy small vibration,Thoughts on vibration took advantage of a cross tail wind this weekend for new pb 10.66@ 124 with the 4.10 in the car
