As the title says. How do I acheive this with avoiding the machine shop as best as possible?

Let's hear some combos!

N.A.: Indy 210cnc port head, FT cam and 10.7:1 on pump gas...
NOS: self explanatory

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, 74... lets start at the bottom here.

IS your engine in good enuff shape to handle 500 LBS of torque and HP?

If not, go talk to a machinest so he can build you a bottom end thatwill handle this. Then we talk about how to make power.
A stock engine is not capable of this. Or short lived I'd should say.

A used factory 360?
It can't be done without NO2 or forced induction, both of which will increase the likelihood that it gets killed in short order.
There's not enough compression and no way to get that much, plus not good enough ring seal, regardless of bolt ons.

I'd say just bite the bullet and have the machine shop, at least build the bottom end. The top end you can change out later (i.e. using x heads then upgrade to better heads later RMS, Eddie, Indy) that way you know the bottom end can take what you want to throw at it.
