360 in An A100 Build: Carb+Intake Choice

Ive read about that, definately will. Not clear on how far in one should go, but I assume leave the floor alone other than tapering near the flange.
The main idea in porting the intake would be to enlarge the runner to the gasket size as far as you can go up the runner. The roof should be raised, the floor should be left alone as much as
Possible. Grinding on the floor to maintain the size is OK at best. The roof should be raised to maintain the port size. The middle of the side by side ports should be addressed.

On your head shots, the pushrod pinch should be widened at the bottom. Open up that pushrod pinch as much as possible.

Looks good though!

On the pinch, I know what your saying definately applies to all the factory heads, and just looking at these heads it seems it would be the same, open them up. I researched all that I could on what and what not to do with these EQ heads and based on posts from people who flowed them, the concensus was to not touch the pinch, citing velocity and how the port flows with the standard size valves. I played it safe by just doing a teensy bit of easing. Yeah, most of those that mentioned that are in the porting and build business, to be taken with a grain.......

Wait! Pro head porters and engine builders are telling you NOT to widen the pushrod pinch area in the intake port?

Yeah! Buy em from them, pay for the secret magic port job! Doooooont do it yourself or you could ruin a set of heads with less flow... I'll have to dig up the article that mentions what I'm talking about (I've read so many friggin articles Ive forgotten more than I can remember!) The heads aint been assembled yet, I still got time!

From what I understand on the performer intake is that the last inch or so of the runner narrows to about 318 size ports but the rest is good for 360. Guess there way to make it work with both heads.

Well my plans have been sent on a detour! Was supposed to have CME in Johnston, SC build a 9.8:1 360 short block as they said they had cores available, the price was right and it would make things a little easier on me with all I've got going on. Told them what I was doing, what I wanted done, they said they could do it, yet almost 3 months later they said they were still waiting on parts for the build. Was very patient and understanding with them. Turns out they actually didn't have a good core to use, obviously was a low priority to them, but they did assemble my heads after having those for 2 months. Short story long, no short block, but heads taken care of, got my rockers, cam and lifters, a few other valve train parts, and a gasket matched Weiand Action intake. So now I need to source a 360 core and find a good machine shop. Thankfully spring is here and Mopars At The Rock is just around the corner, maybe I can find something decent there and get some leads on good shops in this region.

That is not good; sorry to hear you got put off. Well, it may be for the best, and you can find a shop that will care for your project. Which part of SC are you in?
