I purchased a set of Schumacher Mounts to install the 360 into a 66 Dart that had a 273 from factory. Ive mounted the mounts to see how they would fit. Followed the instructions and pictures and on the Left side the rear ear/bracket have a gap of about 3/8". See pic. Is this correct and should I just make a spacer to put in there. I want to fit everything up before trying to drop the body over the engine so I want to make sure the mounts are the correct way. I will post pics of both sides as per the instructions that came with the mounting brackets and mounts.
Thanks Rod

The drivers side (left side first picture) needs to spin around (looks backward's) but I am
no way a great tech here and I am about to do the same to my /6 Valiant 66 model.
Keeping an eye on what our members say.

That doesn't look like a 340/360 drivers side mount to me!! Here is a pic of a stock 340/360 mount, which by the way mounts to the front side of the ears!! Geof

Thanks for the thoughts so far. Here is the pic of the mounts from the schumacher website. As you can see the left side can only be put on one way. I agree something just doesnt look right but you cant turn it around. Now on the instruction pics you can see they have the mount on the back of the ears for the drivers side.

I also added the instructions from the website. I think they are on correctly per instructions, just doesnt look right. Making a spacer is not a problem but I was wondering what others that have used this swap setup have found.

Thanks Rod

Better call Schumacher, you shouldn't have to be making a bushing for a $160 setup!! Also, on a stock setup, the rubber insulator part of the mount is not turned sideways like theirs is!! Something is not right with that drivers side!! Hope you can get it figured out!! Geof

Makes me wounder if they sent a slant 6 to 360 mount kit.

I hope this gets figured out, on the instructions it looks like the
mount is indeed in front of the engine mount tabi.

Can post a couple of close-up pics of the mount with the gap? I used the same engine mounts from Schumacher when I replaced my 273 with a 360. Everything fit perfectly without any need of spacers or anything else. Just the engine mounts.

I can compare what you have going on there with my setup if you can get some good close pictures from above and below, right where the bottom bolt on the driver's mount inserts through the K-frame.

why not call schmacher and ask them. maybe they boxed up the wrong mounts. never know. **** happens..

The schumacher pic shows the early a mounts correct, longwise is correct as shown, for an early a. The 67 ups use the smaller rubber mounts and are turned.

360 have different mounting ears than 273 and early 318s, and require the conversion brackets, else u only have two of three holre line up on passenger side. I made my own mount bracket when I put a later model 318 in for a time which had the same mount ears as a 360. Funny how the one I made looks just like the one in the pic.

Looking at your pictures, I would call them on the drivers side bracket. I wouldn't think a spacer would be the solution. They should give u the correct mounting bracket.

OK, now that its daytime and they are in their office hours I was able to call them. It appears that the set I bought is for a 318 and not a 360. Next time I will buy direct instead of thru Mancini since they told me what I needed! This only makes a difference on the Drivers side(left) mount. The 360 is 3/8" narrower. I was able to order just the bracket from Schumacher who will also credit my card back once I send the other bracket back to them. So its only going to cost me shipping. Also it is worth noting that at Schumacher's I spoke with a lady in customer service named Braden that was super nice and knew exactly what I was speaking of and was more then willing to help!!
Thanks for all the suggestions and help with this.

Good deal. Every time I've talked on the phone with schumachers, they have always been kind, knowledgable and helpful, glad they are still keeping that up...
