I am looking to get a little horsepower boost this spring. I am told a blow through carb, single plane intake (eddy super victor) and a MSD boost retarded ignition box is a solution. Thoughts?

Blow through carb? So you have or plan to have a centrifugal supercharger or turbo?

          I favor;
alloy heads, 11/1 compression, and a cam in the 223 to 230 range, 3.55 gears, and a Commando 4-speed. Caution; you will need 295s in the turns, cuz sideways traction goes away when you step on the gas. For the newbe, it's best to stay with an automatic..... lol.

Google says you are at 308ft elevation, yur 360 won't need much help, to
          .

So how does this work for the OE poster and his supercharger thoughts? Ehhhh, it doesn’t.....

Your compression ratio is too high, IMO.

You're going to need to pull it, tear it down and build a blower engine from the ground up.

So you are looking to drop ~ 6-8 grand into your motor (assuming you will have to tear down the engine to make it boost friendly)? At that price point I would just stroke it, get good aftermarket ported heads and make that power NA, but that's just me....To each their own.

Assuming you have a numerically lower gear ratio, you could go up to 3.23 or 3.55 and it would help acceleration without even touching the engine.

If that's not something you're interested in, and you simply want to mess with the 360, start with a good 4 barrel intake and carb, headers, dual exhaust. Easy bolt ons to help it breathe, without removing the engine from the vehicle (if it's in there).

If you're pulling the engine, now's the time to think of the camshaft, double roller chain, and you could home port the heads if you're comfortable with that. Thinner head gaskets for a compression bump.

10.5-1 is enough on the compression ratio department for a good sized street cam (subjective, I know...) coupled with ported heads (well done units!) w/3 inch exhaust and very high flow mufflers.

Member @IQ52 has demonstrated that even a low ratio engine can make respectable power. His 7.8-1 ratio 440 showed that well. The real key to it all is easy air flow in, easy air flow out. (Combined with a good tune on the carb and distributor....) If all is right and good, 87 octane may very well be not just possible but really good to go, if not preferred.

With ported heads, you can raise the HP level 50, 60 HP without a big cam. The key is getting the valve to lift that high combined with the duration of the cam in the operating rpm you need to be in with your gear, tire size and converter, if a converter applies.

IMO, maximizing what you have would be a cheaper route over the super charged expense and the related costs not in the TorqueStorm kit. And those extras can get a bit pricey.

Pro porting the Edelbrock heads and a new cam, lifter & set is cheaper than the super charged itself. True, it won’t have the power of the rising boost curve of the torque storm, but it will be really close in power if you choose wisely. Just don’t fling parts at the engine.
            THINK FIRST.

Cam needs to go! Compression too high for cam. Racer brown cam is a better choice. 3.91's will do wonders for power take offs!:steering:

call torqstorm. Just up the road from me. Fine people. They will tell you exactly what you need, and i believe will source a carb for you as well
