LEDs certainly do produce heat. Unlike with light bulbs where light + heat go the same direction together, with LEDs the light goes out the front and the heat goes out the back. If there's inadequate thermal management (heat sinking, method of conducting the heat away from the LEDs) their output will drop and they will eventually cook to death.
Are these LEDs set up to be polarity-insensitive so you can use the simple cross-feed method to add turn signal flashing function to the front side markers?

Now don't knock it. I replaced my 68 DART GTS convertible front fenders with my old 69 DART GTS b/c the front lights I could have for continental markers. too... Conversion b/c 68 dart front set up different than 69. but a little fixin and welding got it to work. I have almost brand new 67 tail light lenses for 67 DART. Need front bullet signal markers
