Hi everybody:
I think my combo is missing something because is slower than i may suposse, the most notorious at the big end, here's the list:
360 stroked to 416
4.060x 4.00
Flat top Icon pistons
Eddy ported heads and RPM Airgap
Holley Ultra HP 850
Custom Comp Cams mech flat tappet:
251-259@050, 570/594 lift, 106 lobe sep.
Timing 14° initial, 34° total
1 5/8 headers, X pipes and 3" cutouts
Mallory distributor and box, msd cables
Electric water pump
Ud aluminum pulleys
Tf 904 trans with trans pak
3800 Edge Racing converter
4.56 geared 9" rearend
28.5X 10.5 slicks
4 link suspension
60 fts is 1.68
1/4 mile 12:20 leaving on foot brake at 2600 rpm, shifting at 6500.
Any idea what may be wrong?
Think i can use bigger headers and a single plane (Edelbrock 2815)

your 60 ft time is terrible for your combo...

went your floor it...what does the converter flash to?

what is your MPH?

what does the car weight?

using the wallace calculator

your 1.68 60 ft time shows this

60 Foot 1.68
330 Foot 4.85
660 Foot 7.63
660 MPH 89.13
1000 Foot 10.03
1/4 Mile ET 12.09
1/4 Mile MPH 109.63

I know is terrible , thats what i start this thread.
The converter flash at 36-3800
Car weigths 3300 lbs
The track dont have mph( live in México, sorry)

does it have any down track intervals...like the 330...660 ft times?

Doe's carb have jet extensions in it. Why I ask is my car left hard but slowed put extensions in problem solved.

is that 1.680 60 ft time or ...1.608 60 ft time...your photo is hard to read

60 Foot 1.608
330 Foot 4.64
660 Foot 7.30
660 MPH 93.12
1000 Foot 9.60
1/4 Mile ET 11.57
1/4 Mile MPH 114.54

ok...needs more converter...probably around 4500 flash.....i would run either a 4.30 gear the those tires or 29.5 tires with the 4.56 gears.....

have you checked the engine compression?......check that the balancer has not slipped and your timing is off?......

Have you check to see that the carb is opening fully went pedal is on floor?

fuel pump...fuel pressure....fuel line size?

Just checked. You're up at 5300 feet in altitude. That makes a lot of difference. Knock 3/4 of a second off your time at sea level. Maybe even more. Then throw in the density due to the heat down there. That'll knock off a little too.

I would look at the converter..probably going soft

Need some more info....
1. Did you rejet it? It appears to come square jetted w/84's. Have you read the plugs yet? You may be restricting it a bit on the top end.
2. What size fuel line?
3. What GPH fuel pump?
4. At what RPM is all the timing in by?
Your initial timing for that cam is way too low. If you can shorten your centrifugal advance to about 10-14 degrees, that will help even though that will not affect much on the track, it helps.

Right there with Denver....could not find listing for your track in mexico to compare weather...but using Denver drag strip...

your 12.24 converts to a 10.95 at sea level....at standard air and baro...

i had to download it...then zoom in....and put on my glass...plus let the cat look at it...

Yes, the carb have extensions
Holley blue electric fuel pump, 3/8 fuel line, 7.5 lbs. Pressure
Today will check the damper

So is 10.95 ok for that combo??

The carb is jetted 76/82, spark plugs looks fine, afr is 14-1 at idle, 12.5 at wot.
And it hooks pretty nice, almost put the front wheels in the air, and is a full trim streetable car

anyway if you can find out what the density altitude is at your track...

temp...barometer...humidity?
