440 Lower Radiator Hose

-
If you can't find a hose that fits then make the radiator fit the hose. That is what I did. I used a C body radiator and had a shop move the lower outlet over a few inches so a standard hose would fit perfectly.

Nicely done! I will keep it in mind for a back up plan. If you don't mind me asking what fan and spacer are you using in the top photo and how much clearance did you have from the water pump to radiator?

I used a C body radiator complete with the matching shroud and clutch fan. It all bolted in there just fine with plenty of room between the fan and the radiator. That was a fun build. Low deck 512 with EFI, coil near plug, no distributor, low mount Denso alternator, Viper disc brakes, etc.

The Goodyear #60659 lower radiator hose fit my M-code Barracuda perfectly. It should work for you since the outlet is on the drivers side also (very near but not touching the long oil filter).

I'm using this lower with a B-body 26" radiator (2898047) in my Barracuda..........

Trimmed down the radiator end of this upper hose.......

The 60662 is the upper hose for the big block A Bodies with the top outlet more on the driver side. Daves69-a Continental-Goodyear upper 60664 or a 60621 would fit in your spot. The 60662 was also the 67-69 smallblock lower hose, at least in A Bodies. I have my old Goodyear application book here, so I can look up anything on the older cars. A lot of the numbers are still available on Rock Auto and I suppose other places. mcodecuda-I sold you a set of hoses many years ago-didn't I?

Yes you did and I still have the copy of the catalog page that you sent me.

Where does one get this?

My corregated/flex hose is leaking and would like to replace with something better.

I am running an Allstar chevy style BB mopar rad so the factory stuff does not work for me

You buy the pipe and couplers separate. If you call them they are very helpful.

I just looked up radiator hoses for a 71 big block Cuda and both the upper and lower hoses fit pretty good with minimal trimming
I bought the lower for a 68 hemi road runner , the top was from a 68 440 r/b , had to trim a hair off the upper where it went on the therm housing , due to my alum rad being a hair different ..

I suspect they were the same anyway..

This gets more interesting....I have so far seen three sizes listed for the BB lower rad hose: 2.75, 2.5 & now 1.75. I think it is actually 2".

I have a bb and a sb. Both have 1.75” outlets. How do I know? I bought the adaptors and pipe. The hose can be whatever but the lower inlet on the rad is still 1.5”
