I could be wrong, but I thought all 518 transmissions were lock up.

i *think* there's a very early version that are not. mainly in trucks, iirc.

Many 1988-93 were hydraulic/non lockup OD transmissions, mostly in Dakotas and Rams., 318s and 360s.

mmmmmmmm. Just looked in my ASTG manual. You are correct. The A518/46rh came out with the lock up in 1992. Prior to that they were not lockup.
I learned something new, so, day is not wasted.
