/6 to v8 driveshaft

with 350 hp....would you guys rec just shortning my driveshaft i have for my /6 valiant now...or get a new one...please share what you guys have done. and if any of you have kept the /6 shaft...has it busted?

The driveshaft is not a problem, unless you are running slicks and a stick. Even then, I wouldn't be overly concerned. Just get it shortened. Make sure the shop balances it.
 
The stock driveshaft tube for 318/904 With 7&1/4 rear is the same tubing as slant 6. For 727 w/ 8&3/4 rear everything is larger, slip yoke, U joints,etc..
I would say get a 3" tube from a parts yard if you need shop work done either way. If you stay with the 7&1/4 rear for now there are U joints with 2 different size caps available.
 

I am running the \6 drive shaft that was in my car behind a 370 HP 360 and have not had any issues. I have shortened twice. The first time when I swapped in a long tail shaft A833OD and a second time when I went from a 7.25 to an 8.25 rear end.
