I have a 63 dart 6 vert. I'm painting the top of the doors, there are emblems on the doors, how do I remove them. I also have an exhaust leak pulled off the mainifolds, one stud was broken off. Nothing to grab, is there a way to get this stud out , special drill bit, etc, without pullling the head. Thanks in advance, Jim

The emblems should be held on by speed nuts on the back of studs on the emblems through the doors. Removing the door panel should gain you access. I have a 63 myself, but mine does not have emblems on the doors, so I cannot say that with 100% certainty. that is however how all the rest of my emblems are held on, so I assume the door emblems are the same. On the broken manifold stud. that's gonna require somebody that's good with a mig or tig welder. Have them place a nut on the head over the broken stud and build weld up until they weld the nut to the stud....not the head but to the stud only. You should then be able to turn the stud out by the nut.

actually I thing the door emblems are held on with spring steel.

I am not sure how to get them off but I know they break off easy. so be careful

Don't worry too hard about preserving the ability to use a stock-size stud; focus on drilling out the broken stud hole straight and true, then put in a step-size stud if necessary. See here. Do not be tempted to use an "Easy Out"; it will almost certainly break and then you will be in much deeper doodoo than you presently are. It is very much worth your while to get the good gaskets for the manifolds-to-head and intake-to-exhaust junctions.

If you're refering to the large emblem panel on the inside of the door, it's held in with spring loaded clips. The clips are riveted to the panel and are prone to breaking off. Soak them real good with WD40 (or similar) inside and out. Carefully pry the emblem panel off by using a screwdriver or real stiff putty knife by inserting the pry tool 3/4" from both ends. Pry from the top or bottom, not the ends. If you're able to push it out from the inside of the door, that would be even better but it's hard to work up in there for most of us.

the door emblems on the inside under the vent windows are held with metal spring I used a wide pry blade(screw driver) they hide teh bolts that hold the vent windows in so good luck if you did not want to keep them on the car
