If you hadn't in any previous posts...how about listing all of the "goodies" that have been added to your 273 (and car) , besides the cam...That little 273 sounds "bad ***!"

OK norm here is the scoop on the formula S : it a real formula S car from texas all its life. been sitting for 25 years . first thing I looked at was the engine , it is the correct year block with all the oem goodies except for the pistons . it has the 4 reliefs on tops of pistons , low compression but these pistons reliefs compared to another 273 short block I have here are smaller. did some research and it seems the later 273 1968-69 with 9:1 pistons had smaller reliefs pistons which raised the compression some. anyone ever seen that ?

more info >> inside of engine was clean as a whistle I think it was barely run before parked 25 years ago. had 675 heads on it and a big Crane solid in it, ld340 dual plane on it and a 600eddy.. it was pouring oil out the back of intake , bad rear gasket . went to fix that and found the cam had two lobes worn down on it. so I had another 67 273 engine that had a bad rod with good 920 closed chamber heads and the erson 286 dur 510 lift cam went in as mentioned. That all was installed along with the solid lifters. and adjustable rocker gear. along with the .023 thin head gaskets . ending up with a tweaked holley 650 dp carb on top that combo . still has stock point dist .changing that at some point . been running great all summer. has 8 3/4 rear with 3:55 gear , quite , nice shifting stock 4 speed and diaphram clutch that is tired. It is a AC car as well. I removed all of the AC components off the engine for now .
ps : been told by several people that the barracuda sounds like a big block.

Thanks for the info. You have a strong sounding engine. I've been told that I'm trying to accomplish too much...I have two 65 Barracudas, one a slant auto and the other a 273 180hp 3 speed. I'm going stock on the slant and I'm hot rodding the other. Hope to get them done before I get too old to drive them.

Love the car but you stink at posting videos. Nothing there. Try again. I shouldn't say anything because I suck at it too but it's like a car tease.
