65 dart /6 to SB

65 Dart: right now the old slant and tranny is out. ( took 2 weeks to get /6 apart and 3 lb coffee can full of sludge!). never swapped cable shift shifter to make work with later trans. i got 2 /s dusters to fulfill my s/ cravings.
my thinkin: havn't found any runnin slants for free.i can find running 318 or 360 with trans and probably good rad for not much more than price of good /6. i never had much luck with 7 1/4. rad i have for /6 is questionable. who knows about rear end. i have new offenhauser dual 1bbl intake i wanted to use on dart and super six set upalso, these i could sell and use toward SB stuff. my question is what can i do to use the original floor shift with newer trans.??

You should be able to sell either of these pretty quick

I will be using a later 904 in my 65 GT 'vert with original floor shifter. To do that I bought the shifter conversion kit from Imperial Services. The kit includes the special cable & bracket and some kind of part that is installed in the valve body. When I had my transmission built by Proformance Transmissions they added the part to the valve body. Hope this helps.

Yes - that is what the conversion kit from Imperial ?Services does - let you use your original 65 console shifter with a 66 and later transmission. The park cable part of your original shifter is not used.
