They are not the same. They are close and the repop is only one of them (not sure which and I always forget which is top and bottom, but I have one NOS and the other that needs work for my '67).

Not sure what you mean by "repop". Do you have one you'd let go of? I'm not sure if it's the top or bottom that I have.

Its in the profile. Very slightly different.
The piece on the left is the upper, the right piece is the lower! The ramp angle is different and slightly longer on the lower piece! Yes, they can be swapped upper for lower, but they will not align correctly with the profile of the taillight bezel! Is it a big deal??? Not really, but they are different!!
As a matter of reference, the one being reproduced is the lower piece, and I got it straight from the guy that did the tooling that they wern't aware that they were different either, and just happened to use the lower as their pattern for development! Contact Joel and Metro Parts Company, he is the one who had them reproduced! Not sure if they are still in business, haven't seen them around for awhile!!

So the one I have would be the lower. I've found replacements/reproductions for around $100 each. I was hoping someone might have a used one for less.

I may be interested. I believe it's the top one that I need. Just waiting to see if anyone else responds with one w/o the dents. I could probably work them out, so I'll let you know. Thanks.

No, I don't have a spare to sell. The NOS one that I have was found by a friend of mine in the Los Angeles Craig's List a few years ago for $85. He picked it up for me. I figured that was a smokin' deal.
If you'll drop a plumb line at either end of the car, you'll find the bumpers are providing very little protection. The bumperettes for this model didn't help much either. After 50 years, used trim without dings, especially the lower, is very rare.
There are ways to work dings out. Depends on how bad the dings are.
One or two new pieces of trim with their new bright finish will make everything else look worse.
There is no easy/affordable solution. Good luck
Good deal in my opinion. That little bit of damage is easily fixed.
