67 cuda project a little progress

Thanks guys for sharing your thoughts on this. I think I will butt weld the smaller patch panels on the driver side and see how it turns out. I do have a Miller econo tig that I might try on some scrap sheet metal. What size tungsten and filler metal do you guys use? I would think very small and very low amps. A little trial and error on the table with scrap is in order. I just got a full argon bottle so I think its worth a try!:color:
 
Harbor freight sells a flange tool that is actually pretty decent.
I used it on my lower front fender bottoms and the head is narrow enough that it did not distort the fender.
I have the 1/2 quarters like you are doing and I plan on flanging the metal and glueing them on.

Thats the same on I have. Bought it when building the shop to punch holes in the floor plate angle steel. I didn't have the balls to punch through that steel but it punches right through sheet metal. I plan to try it on some scrap and see how it works. I want to have a good plan before I start with the new skin!
