did you advance the cam any? or just straight up with 79 IVC?
And when do you plan to dyno? Would like to see what you get for my friend who has same setup but less compression.

It's installed straight up right now. I'd like to dyno it before it's put in the car so maybe before the end of the year. Been putting all my money in the paint job so $600 for the dyno isn't possible right now.

oh, okay. Friends looking at running same cam in his 408 with 11.8 compression

Decided to get my bellhousing ready so the engine can go in after the paint job is finished. I bought this bellhousing for pretty cheap because someone modified the IBR hole to a strange size. I bored it out to 5" and then welded a piece of pipe in the hole. Then machined it to the correct 4.35 size for my trans. Turned out quite well I think.

6T9 V-100:
When the lower hinge sags, people start slamming the doors harder and harder, eventually tearing the shitake out of the striker and surrounding metal. Dynamic Restoration sells a nice reinforcement plate for that spot and they aren't "Crack Smoker" priced. BTW, own a '69 Valiant 2-dr sedan- very basic and cheap, thats why I love the car (okay, the $150 buy in for an 87K mile, no rot original was sweet, too).

This was # 51 post in this thread.
How dose one get in contact with Dynamic Restoration? I could use a door strike rebuild.

I painted up the bellhousing last week to match the engine and trans. Today the body received it's final coat of primer. Just a few minor touch ups and it will be ready for paint. Planning on removing the doors tomorrow and getting things fixtured up and ready.

Great stuff Loosenutz, that ear is looking alot like the silk purse. Keep up the inspirational work. Make sure to take a break and have a Merry Xmas you and yours

Well the car has been guide coated and is going through the final 400 grit blocking. I figured that i may as well get the machining done on the wheels and make the axle adapters for the larger rear brakes. I machined out the center hole in the Mustang wheels to the correct Mopar size. I also did a little machining to help with tie rod clearance in the front. The adapters came out great and fit perfectly. I had the wheels sand blasted because I want to paint them matte black. I think I have my tire sizes figured out. 275/55/17 in the rear and 235/55/17 in the front. Looks like I'm still going to need a 3/8" wheel spacer in the front to clear the tie-rods.

Found some used tires on Craigslist that were the sizes I wanted so i picked them up. I plan on painting the wheels and hood scoop this week in matte black.

Primed and painted the wheels today. Also painted the engine bay. The color is Pepper Gray Metallic. Same color used on Eleanor in Gone In 60 Seconds. Looks more gold in person than I was expecting but I haven't seen it in the sunlight yet.

Jamie is the wheel color different than the engine bay? It looks like it. But pictures are weird sometimes. Looks great!

The wheels are matte black. They are still wet in the pictures and should lose a lot of shine once they dry.

This is gonna look sick. I love that color in the pics. Will look really sharp against the low gloss black.

Im diggin' those matte black rims! I have my Cragar SS' powder coated black. Im planning to go with a "gunmetal" rim, with the center 5 spokes still black.
Anxious to see these with tires mounted!!!

How you like me now?!?! :snakeman:

I'm going to move my rear leafs to the lower position so the rear should end up 1.5" lower than this.

Definitely need some weight over the front suspension soon! I have the t-bars set as low as they'll go.

Dang, your getting close now! Once you set the driveline, your rear end should drop some. When I had the driveline out of my 70 Dart it sat about 1.5" higher in the rear than it did with the driveline installed and the suspension loaded.

Most of the weekend was spent block sanding the car with 400 grit. Should be ready to paint sometime after this coming weekend. Pulled the doors off and stripped the old paint off of the inside to get them ready for primer.

I told my long distance girlfriend that I was working on my car for Valentines day and she does like to check this page. I guess I should post something to confirm my story.... I pulled the hinges off the car and cleaned up the area behind them. I also decided to apply POR 15 to the inner fender area in front of the hinges. I plan on doing the whole front wheel wells eventually. This stuff is becoming my favorite restoration tool. The car is scheduled to be painted before the end of February!!!
