it has a small block with w-2 heads... I bought some 17x7 and 18x8 boyds wheels for them. they will be here in abut two more weeks i've been waiting for 5 so far. i had them custom made. Should be sweet i can't wait...

I'd consider the Helwig and Hotchkis sway bar. They are hollow. A hollow front is about 6 lbs lighter in hollow. Also they have adjustable rate rear sway bars.

BTW Firm Feel also sells Bilstien RCD shocks.

What are you running for rear springs? What about leaving the factory column in there and using the $700 on real handling/road race rear springs and have money left over.

I'd also leave the column in there...no need for an aftermarket one...also for wheels, a great way to go is find some off a 95-2004 mustang gt...they are 5 spoke torque thrusts. 17x8 with 5.72 backspace 245/45/17 tire. thats what i have on my 68 cud. and here is my suspension rebuild thread. very similar to what your plans are...

X3 on not replacing the column. You would be hard pressed to improve upon the factory unit. Different steering wheels are cheap and abundant. Spend the money on the Hotchkiss rear springs instead. They look like a well thought out piece.

What about brakes?

and personally i would take a FFI stage 3 box over a fast ratio manual any day. after having driven one with wode and sticky tires, i like my power steering.

as far as brakes, id look at doing FMJ spindles. i really l;ike whatthey did for me with my alignment. read up on the thread in my sig to see what ive been doing

I just bought the torsion bars, flaming river box, hellwig sway bar 55905 from amazon 126.99. The car has 73 k member and discs brakes on it already. i was unsure which year so i purchased 55905... let me know if i did right...

I'm on rock auto and will get the upper control arms bushings in a minute.

I went ahead and bought the energy suspension bushing kit for 144.00 beacuase i thought i just needed the bushings and not everything else. i hope i did right...

I really like those seats. are they comfy? i was going to buy some recaros on Monday but this looks like the cheaper alternative and they look real nice.

Hotchkis was closed on friday until next week.. I need clarification on buying the lowered shocks or the stock height shocks. please advise...

If you plan on running the car on a track get the high backs. They are there so you don't snap your spine in two. Total safety thing.

I just bought the torsion bars, flaming river box, hellwig sway bar 55905 from amazon 126.99. The car has 73 k member and discs brakes on it already. i was unsure which year so i purchased 55905... let me know if i did right...

You want the Helwig bar for the 73-76 A-bodies. It fits great. Picture below of it installed on my 73-76 K-member in my 68 Barracuda.

I'm on rock auto and will get the upper control arms bushings in a minute.

Do not install those per the instructions. Install them per instructions below.

If you are just getting bushings, just get the Energy or Prothane strut rod bushings. Buy the rubber Moog lower control arm bushings not the poly bushings. For upper control arm bushings you have the rubber Moog 7103's. Then you will have poly sway bar bushings that allready come with your Hellwig kit, so no need to buy them twice.

Have you checked the upper and lower ball joints, idler arm, and pitman for movement at their joints?

I think so. Especially for the price. But I have the high bucket with head restraints on them.
