If it's a '69 and a 383, it's a b engine.
Check the casting date on the side of the block.

I would need to see some documentation to believe that. What year did is start and what year did it end?

My dad had a 62 Sport Fury Convertible back then with a 361. That was a "B" block and the 383 was the same. Shortly after he picked his up they offered the 383 in it. Everything interchanged on the 361 & 383 except the pistons and rings....

I could be wrong, but I need documentation to believe it.

you never heard of the 345 horse 383? wow i bet ya never knew they also had a 350.
link? moparts will tell ya all ya need to know. i did all my research years ago.
