Jason,

Welcome to FABO! Thanks for sharing pics of your resto! Keep us updated on your progress! Hopefully some of the links I shared with you were helpful. That is going to be an awesome car when it is finished.

Shane

this isnt my first mopar but it is my first A body.

i had a 69 charger SE general lee and i still have a 78 ramcharger both with awesome 440's

its not rotten anymore but these are the "after paint" pics

galens website isnt taking orders anymore for decoding 1 of ??, but im sure its a low number being a 340 Formula S, vinyl top AC car

a little provenance to go with the car to a show or two...

original operators manual and warranty in plastic sleeve
brochure for model year
complete plymouth line book
custom CA plate last registered in 1984 (i have the front plate too)
build sheet (ive never seen one look this clean!!)
window sticker from original sale
original CA "pink slip" and registration
private bill of sale where my dad bought the car in 1976 for $750

and lastly, when i was preparing to tow the car out i found 2 $20 bills in the back seat that had gotten wet and dried out a LONG time ago.....both are dated 1969 bills...

Wow...awesome car.

Let's see, "Port Orange"...how far away is that? :-k

yes, it came with the dog dishes on it but i also have the "dressed up" spokes covers that will wind up on here or ebay soon

ive never really thought of myself as a car restoration purist of any kind, but with this car because EVERYTHING is there i figure why not push it as far as the bank will let me?

both my charger and ramcharger had different 440's and all kinds of mixed up stuff, but for this car its gonna be right

GREAT CAR!!!! Don't see Y4 Spanish Gold to often! Your car is 1 of 325, 340-S coupes built. GG book has no break down between 4 speed and auto.

Things like vinyl top and A/C were not tracked.

so of the 325 known S's with 340's how many would you guess were vinyl/AC versions? i had to guess less than 20 but its only a guess...

i imagining if it were a mod-top S 340 it would be a 1 of 1

I wouldn't even concider the vinyl top as rare, i'd say i see more vinyl top cars than not. Out of the 21 or so 440 M-code notches i have in the registry ONLY 4 are NON-VINYL tops!!!!

It's hard to guess how many 4 speeds VS auto were built. In some cases of '69 notches it goes either way. I would guess maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the 325 were automatic cars. (extremely rare for 4 spd and A/C, don't even think i've ever seen one).

So lets guess 125 autos built. I'd say your guess is close at 20?

Because of the early production date, A25, you should have the mid-length reverse lights.
As well as the extra cost for head rests, because they became mandatory after Jan 1, '69.

Not sure if you know but there were 340 NON-S cars built also.
