Hi,
I swaped an engine from 73 to 69 Valiant.
I also bought a newer style voltage regulator
(http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/attachment.php?attachmentid=132672&stc=1&d=1376351982)
And hooked it up, first we forgot to ground the box and bured it, the the altirnator had some problems.
Then we took the old altirnator from the original Slant 6 and but it in, also took the old voltage regulator that looked something like this:

It started charging but after some time (not sure if right away or later because the car was running on battery for 2 weeks) it started to charge at too high voltage (if the car rev's were higher). To the point where the battery was boiling.
After that I orderd a new style voltage regulator (the one I order at the fist time) and it doesn't charge anymore.
Do I have to use the old regulator with the old alternator ?
Kristjan.
