70 dart 470 ci drag car build.

I was able to get a cross member installed between my rear frame rails and the anti roll bar located and mounted. I will need to reinforce the mount to account for the twist.
This process would have been way easier if I would have done it earlier in the build.

Since I already broke through the roof, I decided to coat the runners with epoxy before doing anymore porting.
I'll finish epoxy the upper portion after I weld the top back on.

Just another couple porting pictures. It's still rough looking, I put in 3.5 hours .
The ports are being raised about .750 a couple inches up the port & that's just to bring the 2.400 port height up and the taper is happening with width up in the plenum.
anyways this is a lot of work.
2nd picture shows the difference between what I ported before vs the next port that is nearly to size.

After I removed the window, regulator and wing window parts I took some more weight out of the doors, I estimate 5-7 pounds for both. It's not much and I will have to recover them in aluminum sheet.
I have also been working on my lightweight steering column and waiting for a u-joint from borgeson.
Then I'll build my seat mount and get that locked up.
Newbomb turk & I are going to watch a friend do some drag racing for a while tomorrow.

trying to get the car done for a Mopar race in June but that's going to be a probably not.

Update; @Newbomb Turk made up a 7/16 pushrod for me to check length we were aiming a little long & ended up nailing it first try. Good job dude! Plenty of clearance side to side too.
Poopin' in tall cotton!

I welded my two couplers together, 1 is the 3/4 to 3/4 smooth and hooked it to the adapter because I ordered the wrong size adapter on accident. I need to grind the welds though, somehow it was welding very dirty and I cleaned it pretty well.
If someone smarter than me thinks I should start over with a u joint that attached directly to the box I'd take that into advisement.

Port taper has been achieved on one side.
It's ground big so I can fill where I want too .

Well, I spent the rest of the day getting the ports sized.
7 hours today...I have a lot of time in this intake and still more to go.

I put my intake on my block with the heads after work last night figured I'd check for warpage and could fit .062 really easy at the top of the runners so I brought the intake back down and surfaced .070 off of both sides of the flanges, angle milled basically to get this thing lined up better. Gonna check it again tonight, I hate to keep lowering the floor but maybe I got lucky...that happens, it didn't happen last time but I'm better than I was 2 years ago lol .

That intake better be worth 50-60hp for what you’ve put in to it.

I suppose it should, we'll have to see how well I planned this out, but also not wanting to split the block into pieces

Just fixed up the bolt holes to let the intake center better, need to take another .015 off
Need .011 at the bottom and .004 at the top.
Perfect it will be, lined up on the floor and give me .100 to take out of the roof of the heads.

I was thinking of it different terms………
If he spent the time he worked on it washing dishes at the local diner for minimum wage, he’d have made enough to buy a new Indy TR and have it ported by Wilson, along with a couple shiny new Dommies.
But you don’t learn anything like that :BangHead:
