Fellas, I picked up this demon back in 2013. I was 16 and it was my first car. It took many hours working on the family farm in order to finally have the cash to get it. I drove it home grinning ear to ear. Fast forward a few years and my little brother wrecks his first car. A Chrysler 300. And Voila! A extremely cheap and low mile 5.7 hemi! I couldn’t pass on the opportunity, so it is time to start on the demon! I got it into our little garage and started tear down. Got er stripped and time to start on body work! Started on the truck and rear quarters which were all rot. Here’s where I am at thus far.

Nice job! Keep the updates. I'm interested in that 5.7 transplant in particular. My 318 does nothing for me.

:steering:Too bad you're so far away. I could fix you right up with stuff!

Got her up in my homemade rotisserie, time to get rid of the rot and rust on the bottom side. Gonna install frame connectors while it’s easy to get to, also working on applying body filler to panels I’ve replaced. Slow progress but still inching forward!

Spent the morning getting the fuel lines and brake lines removed. Then started scraping off all the old undercoating. Got most of it off. Plan is to clean the underside good and POR-15 it. Thoughts on this? Is there a better product?

Had a local welding shop bend em for me!
I figured the round perimeter was from P Flex pipe reels. People that do directional underground boring install pipe that comes on big steel reels, and the outer parts of the reel look just like that. Great idea for a rotisserie, and probably cheaper than 2 sheets of 3/4 plywood to make one of the wooden versions...lol.

Few more rust patches tonight, then rolled er over and getting prepped for por-15. Gotta pick up some supplies tomorrow and hopefully get it cleaned/degreased tomorrow

My avatar car has POR-15 on the underside from a PO. I cannot say what the prep was (I suspect it was done properly) but there are places where I can peel a "sheet" off leaving a clean surface beneath. I then just use Rustoleum with a brush as I've used it with success on my trailer and other cars underneath for many years. FWIW...

****. Not what I wanted to hear considering I already have the POR-15.

^^^^ it may work fine for you. I was only telling you what I have observed. Again, I cannot speak to surface prep.

Love/Hate with POR 15 that's for sure. I've never seen a product with such polarized results????

Pot-15 is down. Still need to get it on the engine bay, floor pans, and trunk. Getting there
