I seem to remember some years back reading that the newer 727 variants in trucks and vans had factory deep pans that could be used on older 727's, perhaps someone can clarify. Also, be sure to use the proper extension to drop the filter top the bottom of the deep pan.

You can also use the pan off a 47re or 48re and they are much deeper than a stock 727.

You can also use the pan off a 47re or 48re and they are much deeper than a stock 727.

That's exactly what the pan pictured above is. It's off of a late model truck or Durango I think. Should add about 2-3 more quarts I guess.
