727 interchange help

hi guys and gals I have two trannry one is a 66 bb tranny the other is a 78 sb tranny can I take the guts out of the 78 and put them in the 66? I ask this because it opens up torque converter options and the 66 is weak. thanks shiifty

........U sure can, i've changed lots over....u just need 2 change the output shaft, front drum and pump...........kim.....

78 small block 727 is a lock-up, input shaft, valve body are different too
