I have a 72 dart with drum brakes, small bolt pat. There is someone selling a 73 dart with with disk/big bolt pat. for a parts car for 300 bucks.Would the 73 disks work on my 72? would this be a good buy?

You'll need the upper control arms, and disc brake proportioning valve and brake lines. What part of the country you in? I could use the sheetmetal around the rear window if it isn't rusted out. :salute:

You'll need more than "just the uppers and brake lines" and the "proportioning" valve wont need to change unless you really want to. You will need the upper control arms, and spindles/rotors (you can switch to bigger disk rotors but that will require some other parts also) and calipers (cores at the very least) and NEW brake lines, if your swapping break parts always use new hoses, much cheaper insurance than trying to scrounge up new front end parts.

Is it a good buy, that depends on what else your going/could scavange from it. You could probably find all the parts you need for the disk swap cheaper but you might have to put more time into searching for that stuff (whats your time worth to you?) where as you currently know where to find all the stuff you need and have a fair price for an entire car. What other goodies might you get from the car, is it a 318 car, what rear end is in it, what kinda shape is the sheetmetal in, hood, deck lid, front grill, bumpers, electrical stuff, is there keys for the locks/ignition and how well do they function? Personally if I had the 3 jacksons neccesary I would purchase it because I know I can always further part a vehicle down like that and get my money back and get the parts I want. Another question to ask yourself is, do I have the room to store said vehicle, while parting it down, that won't get you in trouble with neighbors or the city?

If you do get it, I would like a response regarding the condition of some of the aforementioned parts (pics maybe) as I have intrest in a few of them, might be able to work out a deal of some sorts.

BTW, gremlin, he's in Santa Clara, Ca.

car is running but has a bad reverse gear.It does have a 904 with a 318 which is what im putting in my car.It would be good for little stuff like the fender turn signals(which i dont have) and im sure other little stuff.I figured i could sell the moter for $50 or so, tranny maybe other things.
What do you think?

Is it a two door? Buckets, console, 8 1/4 rear end. I have a friend that needs the seat tracks for buckets. If the car is a 2 door and the sheet metal around the rear glass is good, shoot me a price. 73 k member would sell pretty easy. Or you could convert it for use with a big block. Here's the link for that.. http://www.bigblockdart.com/techpages/dck.shtml
The instrument panel would sell. Dash pad in good shape? Sell it. If you have room unbolt everything and store or sell it. Then cut up what's left and haul it across the scales. Look through the for sale archives here and get an idea what stuff is worth and post it for sale. You should end up with a some spare cash when you're done.
