If the pump doesn’t have a bypass don’t run a thermostat, just a restricter plate. If it does have the ability to bypass then a thermostat is the best route. You’ve done a really nice job with Fred. You should be proud of that.

I wonder what the pump manufacturer says about running any resistance?

What was the best it ran for you?
I seem to recall talk of a new cam, any other upgrades aimed at lowering ET’s?

10.42 best it ran for me. Yes I did put in a new cam and converter. Hoping 10.20’s

They said exactly what I said.... Make sure to drill a hole on the flange of the t-stat and it will be fine. Didn't give me a warm and fuzzy so I didn't but then again, I only drove Fred on the street once.
