i havent did any work on any 8 1/4 rear before and getting ready to pull the 81/4 out the dart to install the 83/4 i know the ubolts are smaller right and shock plates..but the springs are the same right....i dont want to put the ss springs on the dart im going to make up the cal tract type stuff my self i hope...just wondering if i can get away with the springs thats on the dart now..i know i can just get under and measure thought i would ask gotta get the car in the shop tonight i hope...thanks mike

i think 8 1/4 and a 8 3/4 rear both have 3" tubes so the ubolts and shock plates will work. and yes the springs will work no matter what rear (as long as its an abody size) is in it.

Hey Mike;

i know the ubolts are smaller right and shock plates..
Incorrect, there the same size. It's the 7-1/4 your thinking about.

but the springs are the same right...
On the width, yes.

just wondering if i can get away with the springs thats on the dart now.
If you can live with how they sit......

thanks guys that great..i may change the springs out later but for now its keeping everything except the 81/4 lol...gotta get something to drive and spin a tire i miss driven the duster...:sad5:
