i have a 8.75 open end 323 and i have a guy that is going to make it 355 suregrip, he said he could make it so it is always in suregrip, but it would feel funny going around corners, or he could make it where it is limited slip, this is just for street car not drag, i dont really understand the difference could someone give me some advice? thanks

Sounds like we means a spool for always locked. You don't want that, just get the limited slip style.

make sure you see the posi unit before it goes in, you want the clutch type, not the cone type. clutch type is rebuildable. if its the cone type and its used i personally would pass on it, but thats me. at the very least give it a thorough inspection before installing.

Sounds like he proposed a "Lincoln Locker" which is where you weld the spider gears. NOT a streetable mod! You would have all the evil handling of a spool with less strength than an open diff. Personally unless this guy is going to do this for free AND pay you for anything he screws up, I'd look elsewhere.

Educate yourself about the basic varieties of 8 3/4" rear (489, 741 & 742 cases), and the types of differentials available. Not everything will interchange.
