904 Rebuild

-
I was doing 2.5 of them a day with all new bushings, washers and/or needle bearings included.
I also had all the parts on hand already, and shift kits added an hour.
We also rebuilt planetary sets in house, so steel ones were easy to come by.
My R&R buddy Gus (Gustavo) could have them sitting out on the bench in 20 min or less, and back in and running was about 30 minutes.

At 2,800 a day or more maybe I should get back into it.:D

Hell for a quarter of that a day, maybe I should GET INTO it LOL

Ima thinkin Gustavo was/is a one-of-a-kind.

He was amazing for sure, but it was his job and he had every exact tool he needed right on his cart and in near perfect placement.
We did a Honda front drive 5 speed clutch one night and I asked him if he'd take 50 bucks to R&R it if I did the rest of the clutch (just to share the money with him mostly) and he agreed.
I took about 20 min to go get a 12 pack and when I came back the trans was on the table. :D

Hell for a quarter of that a day, maybe I should GET INTO it LOL

I would if I had the place to do it and a test run stand. (run stand would be a must that I would probably have to build)
Even still have most of my tools for it, but my back would probably hate me for it. :D
