Nope.
Okay, I'll be brave and say it first.
There were never any Commando Darts.
Darts with the Charger 273 engine, yes. Commando was a Plymouth thing.
Now everyone can start flaming me for being picky.

Ahahah whoops changed the title

Okay, picky! But externally, even if numbers were correct, how could you tell? Pull valve cover and measure lift or heads and look for pop-up pistons? just my two cents for whatever it's worth

Mopar Holley Carb? aluminum intake? 2 barrel Accelerator cable bracket, 65 Valve covers, Cap breather. I don't like the light blue paint an the heads showing.

So sorry everyone there is a such thing as a 1966 Commando Dart. Got one from new.

Motor is not original, has had the plugs out of it since 1988 lol, transmisson and rear end all look original

Did that one also go 165 mph @6500 rpm in 4th and still pulling with hydraulic lifters and a points dizzy all stock ?
Where is dan the man

Only if the line ran out of Charger 273 lids and used some leftover Commando lids... SNAFU rather than standard practice.
My 65 (3rd owner) came with a Commando air cleaner as well. Dad was the second owner and asked about it when he bought it in 75. Guy said it came that way when he bought it off the lot in Orem UT.

Used to be a member on here that had a 65 Barracuda 4bbl Charger, that his grandpa bought new.
