Yes. Exactly the way it’s going. Thread officially off the rails. And I must say it’s very enjoyable. Is this going the direction of the following:
What does a threesome with two Thai Chicks and the Lottery have in common?
Six matching balls
Everyone like to spend our time differently.look Mr. Hand, all i'm sayin' is that if i'm here and you're here isn't it our time?
And if you put my mind to it can fix anything, since my dad's a TV Repair Man. He's got an assume set of tools I can borrow..........Everyone like to spend our time differently.
Yes but on your own you can only gather so much data, everything we know is built off what others have done before us.There’s many different types of learning. I learn much, much, more from practical application than I ever did in any of my engineering or math classes. But that’s just how my brain absorbs stuff.

it's but one of many of the services i offer!
The xe268h only made 39 hp over the stock 340 cam, (it was making 353 hp before the swap) if you got good heads intake carb headers etc.. and the only thing holding it back is cam then yes your gonna get good gains with a decent cam swap, it's not magicMopar rated the 340's at 275 hp and 340 ft.lbs.
They also spec'd them at 10.5:1 compression with 63 - 65 cc heads., but most stock 340's had 72 - 73 cc heads at about 9.5 : 1 compression from the factory, 535 and 585 cfm carbs and made about 275 HP.
You could blue print the engine, mill the heads to 63 cc's for 10.5:1 compression and still be NHRA legal as per factory specs. With the bigger '71 thermoquad these NHRA prepped 340's would certainly make over 300HP.
I have seen about 5 videos where stock 340's dynoed from 274 to 284 hp. Maybe there were some early stock ones that made 320HP?
Maybe Dulcich lower compression 340 with the comp XE 268, different intake and carb made 100 more hp than stock.
All it says to me with those 5+ examples that a similar 318-360 with decent prepped factory heads probably gonna make mid to high 300 hp on a westech dyno.LOL keep trying... stock 340's off the assembly line weren't 10.5:1 If they were 9.7, you got a decent one.
Mazz built that engine. You have no idea what was done to it. Any clean up porting on the heads, std or offset adjustable rockers corrected for ratio. Not knowing the small details makes it a loose guess as to why it made that hp level. Anyone that has raced and built stuff to the small details knows what a difference getting the TRUE rocker ratio/lift at the actual valve creates. The typical ratio of 1.43 using stamped rockers and shitty pushrod angles are rough on SBM engines.
Did that in the 1980 maybe not 5200 but closeshows what you know!
me and my army of monkeys with typewriters will soon crack the code of 450hp 318's that have ALL the power under the curve regardless of gearing choices, cost pennies to build with easy to get parts and be stone ax reliable all while not needing to rev about 5200rpm
That's thing about customizing your car, your tailoring it to your needs, some don't care as much what happens under 2,500 rpms especially with a 2,500-3,000+ rpm stall and some gears and others it's obviously a big deal for them.I have used the XE 268 in a warm 340 and it was lazy below 2000-2200 rpm. From 2500 rpm and up it
was very fast and at high speeds the power seemed unlimited. I was running 3.23 gears and 25560R15's
I prefer smaller cams for daily driving... they pull so much harder from idle up and are way more fun to drive.
I never drag race.
It was the Jensens that made the car. Admit it, it's true.Did that in the 1980 maybe not 5200 but close
