AFR ratio and splitting jets?

On the runner to the stat housing, on the backside out of the wind. Or pretty much anywhere on the aluminum head there. I run a low-pressure system (7psi), and the top of the rad always has air in it, so it reads much cooler
I used mine today to check the temperature of my chicken for my brunch!

And the damn pop tart. Nasty with frosting in a bag. All he needed is a can of squirt and he'd be golden.

Good thing he doesn't have Parkinsons disease or he'd be all cut up and holes all in his face.
(My Dad had it and I used to tease him all the time like that):D
Not teasing, I used to take a drink out of his milk or coffee when we went out to eat, because he would start shaking and spill it all over himself and get real embarrassed.

Squirt is good!!

Fan shroud done.

Did not pull a plug as I was busy making the shroud. That will be tomorrows job.

Or is that just pumping water out of the bottom of the radiator right back at the thermostat and back through to the radiator?
I would think if it was pumping into the heater core that would be its radiator.

Water pump (heater out let) goes into the intake. Your right heater went in the trash. I wish I could come up with a cleaner way but the dam pump has that male nipple and I dont trust the rubber caps.

I made mine in the same fashion that I bought a couple of fans actually that were on a motorhome with a 440 LOL but any rate I made mine in the same fashion as yours and I thought about that area where the fan isn't on the back side? I thought about putting some kind of fin there where when you're going down the track or wind is hitting it real strong it can cut through but yet when it's at a stop it just flaps close and let's the fan do the work? Also this would in my mind cut wind drag while also providing more Cooling? Like weighted louvers of some kind? Again my mind thinks of the wind hitting a wall at the back of the radiator at 120 plus? Just some food for thought..

Your may be right about that.

I have a nice high end canister one but I'm waiting to to the rear end and trunk before I install all the new fuel system stuff.

J par, yeah it's not ideal.
I like your idea. I know I've seen some light weight aluminum flappers some where. Next time I see them I may just try that!

I totally agree about the little caps. The last time I put a piece of hose on there with clamps and then clamped over a bolt and that looks pretty ugly. But the very last time I went ahead and did the bypass hoses like you did but inside them I put a rubber plug that I could barely push inside of it that could definitely not get sucked through. I did I'm both of them and did a 160 thermostat. Actually now that the Stroker motor is in it has an electric water pump and that is all it has. It has just one Inlet and one Outlet. Also that was a high-volume mechanical water pump that I had on with the bypasses all plugged and ended up having to put a stronger bottom tube on the radiator as it was sucking it closed.

Add even got a couple of small motorcycle fans I was thinking is throwing on there somehow? I mean can we get enough Cooling?

I was doing a bit of a wire tuck a few weeks ago on this little unit that I made. it's just a stock brass radiator.

That is quite civilized!
Your fab work is looking much better.
Nice job man!

I kinda wish I had 2 small fans, just not sure they will clear my pulley. With my tilt front end the radiator had to move back.

That's all in the stock position. It's a little bit tight but I've also ran a pulley there for a water pump but obviously with the electric pump there's nothing spinning there

Actually did that at least a couple years ago and had to thread on it of course but that's long gone now.

Checked timing and plugs today.

Timing mark was was down on the strap.

Idle was way up, with a hard shift into gear.

Backed curb idle WAY down, Reset initial timing at 15. Timing still coming in WAY up at 3500+.
Changed to the silver springs. Reset curb idle and initial timing to 15.

Now all in at 2500, full advance 36 deg.

My distributor got sold on a customer's engine and was replaced with a new MSD unit and I did not think about the curve in the new distributor....

The new distributor was maxing out at 28 all in at 3500+

Now idle is crisp and lumpy, temp gauge sitting at 185. No more slam into drive from neutral.

Gonna have to re jet again and tune to the new timing.

I thought you were going to post a picture of the plugs?

Take a left turn at Kmart?! I don't think the plugs were the problem. Maybe finish what he's doing drive it a while and check the plugs after he put some new ones and maybe?

Not posting pics of plugs that make me look like a *** hat. I will re tune and post pics if I can't tune it.

Thanks for all the help and advice.

Starting the pro stock wing tomorrow!

I was still hoping to see the plugs. I did see he had to recurve the distributor. I just have a fetish for spark plugs.
