Anyone ever hear of http://www.highspeedwelding.com/ ? Found a link to the site on the turbo forums. I have not contacted him yet. I have also read that SDCE, the forced induction crew, are working on one also. Seriously doubt that they can compare tp the alter-K, but it would be nice to have options.....

if its the same high speed welding from ILL,,, he does GREAT work,,but pricey,,

Was no priceing on his web site, at least not that I seen. Might be worth calling just to investigate?? Fstfish66, been meaning to ask, how do you get your back tires off? Do you have enough droop? Or do you have to start unbolting things??

i clicked on the link,,seen the phone number,, im sure its a guy named dennis,,in ill,,,does great work,, i wish i could of eforded him to back half my barracuda,,,, i got a phone price when i drove to the shop to meet him the price grew by 1500 bucks,,,i wish i wouold of waitied til i had enough cash,, he does great work,,,,,let me know what u find out if you call him,,,

as for my tires,,most fat tire cars,,have to unbolt the shocks,,and the 4 link, and drop the rear axel,,,,

i got very lucky, i run hoosier tires,,and the 66 A body has a small wheel opening,, i just jack the car up,,put jack stands under the car where the front of the leafs would of bolted,,,let the rear hang,,,let all the air out of the tires,,and roll them off of the studs,,having standard length studs helps,,,

what Joe said........... going 1/4 mile and making a few left turns to get back to the pits it should be fine........ driving it is another thing......... INK, Call Denny

He emailed me back with a base price of $3995 and there are many options to change the price. Including an upgrade for street use.

I guess I'm a little biased, because I have one...But for that price, go with what has been proven...

But, as was stated, it's all in what you are trying to accomplish with your car...Diversity, isn't it great? :)

i have to agree. the alter-k doesn't need an "upgrade" for the street. its been prooven on the track and street. plus i know it has a ton of brake options because the spindles it uses are based on a mustang II style. but hey do what ya want..

Well Just got off the phone with Dennis and he has been building this system for about 12 years now. He says the only difference between the "street" system and the race system is the brakes and the ends on the control arms. He uses Hiem joints for the race system. He also said he's backed up beyond belief and if I wanted one it wouldn't be ready for at least 4-6 weeks. I'm going to go visit his shop Thursday and I'll take some pics of the system on a B-body he has there.
