Is it possible to cut an aftermaket tach into a stock Abody cluster under the temp gauge?

If I remember right the board is behind that area and would have to be modded.
The only reason I remember that is because I replaced all three of those factory guages with white faced aftermarket ones (using the factory holes), so I had it apart and made mods to the back panel to do it.

Nope, I'm wrong.
The metal of the housing is there and not the board.
This is where you could cut the tach in.

It would have to be a really small tach. Years back I wanted to add an Oil Pressure Gauge in that spot on one of my a-bodies (or in place of the Dummy Light pod), and IIRC the gauge I would have needed would have been 1-1/16"

how small a tach are you wanting to put in there? I would get a 1975+ cluster trim piece versus cutting up yours. It will look cleaner and you will already have a hole.

I was thinking a 2.5" would fit under the temp gauge

It may very well fit there, but it sure is going to be close considering the dash metal, the metal housing on the cluster and the bottom of the guage above it.

OK it will definitely fit there!

So I'm guessing I'll cut it in, then do the restoration.
I hear there are a few fellow members that work on clusters.
Can anyone recommend someone?

Thanks!
