Anyone out there using a aftermarket balancer, Fluidampr, or ATI with a 69 cast iron front cover with the timing pad on the passenger side? Don't feel the stock balancer is the best option for the new engine build. Thank you in advance!

I'm running a Fluidamper with 69 cover on a 340. I used a timing tape to re-mark, otherwise no issues.

Sorry, missed this until now. So when I bought it, the front end of the engine had been swapped to a 70-up timing cover, water pump, and aluminum aftermarket pulleys, and the Fluidamper had a flat face where the pulley bolts up. I think the belt was ok but didn't run this for long. I removed all that and installed the 69 timing cover, a Milodon (IIRC) cast iron water pump, what I believe to be the correct factory pulleys, and added power steering. With that, the crank pulley stuck out too far, so I bought a new Fluidamper which has a recessed area where the pulley bolts up. I think it's 1/8 but it's been about 10 years so...the alternator brackets are repops also. I did have to add shims behind the water pump pulley and tweak the alternator spacers a bit but eventually everything lined up well. Not sure how much to attribute to the damper vs other non stock parts. Hope this long winded post helps!
