The two nipples of the thermostat that stick out the bottom of the air cleaner have a speed nut of some kind on each nipple. I recently bought a new thermostat. I had to break those two nuts to get the old one out. Does anyone know what those nuts are called and/or where to find new ones? Below is an ebay auction that shows the nuts with the thermostat. Thanks

They're called push nuts and you can get them at auto parts stores, hardware stores, Home Depot, McMaster Carr, WW Grainger, etc. Just take your valve with and pick one just a hair smaller than the diameter of your vacuum ports.

They go by various names depending on who/ what "speed nuts"

Tinnerman nuts, IIRC. They dont look anything like the previous post. They kinda resemble a star washer but with the points on the inside. They are usually "pushed on" with a small socketdriver, hence the common "push-nut"name.They shouldnt be hard to find. And if you arent too fussy some of the other pictured ones will work. I like the hex type cause they ars removeable.
