Yep just like up here Bruce, anything and I mean ANYTHING comes with $100 automatic insurance. If you want more its like an extra $1 per $100 of value. Plain and simple I requested USPS, he ships UPS and tells me to deal with it???WTF?? He doesnt even ship or pack for crying out loud, he has UPS pack it??

OK-- what is the tracking # of said items-- UPS/fedex do not dispose of items.
They may destroy them, but they are not a storage facility.

If you refused to pay the customs the item was returned back to the shipper--post the tracking # we can all trace it.

I have used the USPS the last couple of times to Canada-- small items that the local carrier picked up at my mail box-- simple.

If I sold you something worth 150. I would not ship usps either. No insurance and no tracking. I think the seller has a right to protect himself. If he stated he would only ship ups I dont see your beef. You didnt have to buy from him. Am I missing something?

Didnt read the other thread so i didnt know all the facts.

Just realized something......
yellow68runner lives in the same tiny town as waggin - Floral City, FL.

Just an FYI.

Later,
Bruce B.

yes they do have insurance,it's like 1.75 for each hundred dollars worth of insurance,I have never had a problem with usps.
Didnt read the other thread so i didnt know all the facts.
shipping confirmation is .75

I just shipped something to 4spdragtop thru the usps. Wanted to insure it for $100.00 and the insurance was a bit over $20.00. When shipping in the states usps does offer delivery confirmation, so you know it got there, very reasonable insurance and for anything of high value, registered. Registered is a bit slower than any other method. Every time a piece of registered mail moves from on area into the next it has a signature log that follows it, no ifs and or buts about it. When I worked in NJ I often had 2 armed Postal Inspectors escorting me with the registered mail, can only imagine what was in it...

I think for anyone reading this the lesson here is it is probably better to have paid the extra $$$ and never deal with that seller again, better to be out an extra $65 and have the parts than be out $192 with nothing to show for it

So I posted a thread yesterday about a seller that has screwed me due to him not honoring my shipping instructions.....they were nothing too in depth, just simply ship via USPS. Here is the link

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=125108

I sent him a couple pm's and finally rec'd one this morning. He is telling me that I am $hit out of luck. Everytime he mentions the shipping, its his "shipper" so WTF does that mean?? This is a business for him and he has hired a shipper?? Point is that apparently UPS was the cheapest way.

From the other thread

As it stands now the parts were $150, shipping initially was $25 then bumped another $17 that I paid by the way!!! Now they are held hostage at UPS for another $65 in broker fees.

Can we assume the extra $17 was some sort of charge associated with your request to ship USPS? If that's the case, it does not matter what would have been the cheapest way, it should be shipped according to the method you paid for. If he took extra $$ and then shipped cheapest way to his advantage, he robbed you. Still, $42 shipping from the US to Canada is pretty cheap. I just shipped some Christmas presents back to Manitoba from BC and it cost me $20 Canada Post.

You can bypass the UPS brokerage charges if you do your own customs clearing, but they do not make that very easy for you. I tried this many times and they are supposed to notify you when the package arrives at their depot, then you pick up the paperwork, go to CCRA, wait in line, deal with the agent who will be suspicious of everything you do or say, pay your customs fees, back to UPS and retrieve your shipment. No "to the door" service for this, but typically the notification that your package has arrived is in the form of the guy in the brown shirt and shorts at your doorstep with your shipment in one hand and his other hand reaching out for payment. Pretty tempting to just pay him and avoid the BS.

Anyways, yellow68runner, you really should step up and say your piece. The real villian here is UPS, but I think there still are some US members here who do not realize, or do not care that UPS uses these deplorable business tactics.

Thats the same site I was at, I entered what yellow68runner says is the tr# and there it comes up NFG??? Maybe a trip on over to moparts to post some info there as well!

No the $17 was him not estimating the shipping charges correctly. I am the extra charges were cuz he had them pack it

Im intersted in buying from PG Classics

Me, I will not waste my money with PG Classics again. Their stuff is marketed out of Canada, but it's all Chinese-made garbage. It looks great when you receive it, but it quickly degrades and the head of the operation, "Peter Gee", basically shrugs his shoulders and says "tuff luck, not my problem" if you can even get him on the phone—see here. Given that their stuff is priced way up high, that's not cost-effective.

Agree 100%, it is trash. I have seen first hand how cheap some of that garbage is, save your money and restore a geuine Mopar part.

sorry guys,I thought the link would work-- yes what Dan says-- change the "o" to a 0(zero)-- it had the history.
I believe both private shippers Fed-x & ups use the customs brokerage for Additional $$, usps does not have the same fees .

Anyhow sorry to hear about the deal being screwed up. Lawrence

Times are hard and many companies are either offering free shipping or reduced prices.....shop around

You just got jerked around not to long ago by someone else, didn't you??

Not true, you can insure and track using USPS. We do it all the time. 80 cents for delivery confirmation (inside USA) and you can track by using the custom forms number when it goes out side the USA. All priority mail comes with insurance automatically. And you can buy extra.

It looks like its on its way back to yellow68runner. I hope someone planted a turd in it!! He tells me that it has been "disposed" of by his "shipper"?? Whatever!! Thanks for the info and help guys

man up and give him is money back yellow68runner!!!!

your name will forever be tarnished otherwise and not just on this website.

so if you value your reputation and would like to continue to sell your parts and make money than that is what needs to be done!

he is willing to work with you and take a bit of a loss just so he can get this resolved so stop trying to screw him.

4spd .....did you pay via paypal? if so file a dispute with paypal and explain the hole mess and they will get you your money back and then he will have to pay paypal back because he would be legally bound to do so!
