I have been putting my car together/w stuff I've had laying around,I switched it to elec ignition. It cranks but no spark going to the plugs. It's not the ballast, ecm (new),coil.I grounded my test light & tested both sides of the coil & have power to it & tested the power from the ballast & have power.whats the chance of the distributor being bad? Any way to test the pick up?Any help would be great:D

The coil is grounded by the bracket? :O.I'll try that, thanks

It better not be, lol!

Have you checked reluctor to pick-up coil gap? Is it a Mopar distributor? Can you be more specific than "stuff you had laying around"? Did you swap wiring harnesses?

I had a used distributor laying around, new ecm & ballasts, wiring. I'm a bit of a pack rat:D.I don't remember what the distributor cam from but it is factory. I have power @ both coil terminals & ballast, but didn't try a jumper wire.I'm trying to keep from jerryriggin stuff.is there a way to test the pick up? it only cranks.I stuck a plug in the wire & grounded it while using a jumper @ the relay. Thanks guys!

are you sure you have the timing right?
or possible have the distributor 180 out, i'm sure everyones made that mistake...i know i have

IT'S ALIVEEEEEEEEEEEE! It was the ecm.The one in it looks like new, soft & nothing burnt but doesn't work.Good thing I had another to try. Thanks for the help guys! Now to time it :D
