S O B:angry7: My new cam is on its way,so I pulled the old one out and to my surprize the rear cam bearing is shot falling apart that is.Money is so tight now I cant aford a rebuild.I know what will happen when I take it to the machine shop he will say you know since its here you might as well re ring it and new bearings, if the cam bearings are shot what are the chances the rod and crank bearings are on there way out.I was realy hopeing to get this 360 in about 3 weeks from now.**** I just dont count when it comes to this car.

You'll need to pull the crank to properly install the cam bearings anyway. Sorry

Ok, now what would cause the bearing to fall apart. The journal on the cam showes no nicks nothing.

I had the center cam bearing on my Magnum 5.9 have the top portion flake off. It was a used motor I purchased and would have never known had I not pulled the stock cam to replace it. All the other cam bearings and rods/mains were fine. Just that one. I replaced the cam bearings and went on my way. Fortunately the motor was on the stand, but we didn't pull the crank.

Snake that just sucks! Sorry to hear about the bad luck.

That sucks !
Had that happen to me once .
Had to replace My worn out the stock timing chain .
Pulled the cam outta curiosity and the bearings fell apart!
Wound up pulling the motor and freshening everything up.
I was glad I did in the long run.
Any chance you could just rent or borrow the tool to replace the cam bearings ? Just a thought .
Best of luck to you .

Its been nothing but bad luck first, body and paint now the 360 i know there is light at the end of the tunnell but dam i am blind right now lol.
