Hi All: Are you one of the many who have persistent rear main or front seal leaks in your slant six engine? Seems like whatever you try, it never works long term. So how about this: Instead of engine oil going all over your garage floor and smearing back on the underside of your car, how 'bout we catch it before it runs down to the bottom of the motor. We need some kind of oil catching system - perhaps a sponge like thing that conforms to the back side of the external oil pan to wick up the oil before it runs down and drips onto the floor. This will also keep the bottom of the car cleaner. Some smart guy or gal needs to come up with some wicking device to clip onto the oil pan rear surface. We could also use one for the front crank seal as well. So whaddya think? Is this doable? Seems pretty simple from an engineering perspective. Ideas?

Is it a manly drip…..

See that tray. Not only is the shift cable running thru it but a maxi pad stuck to it will hold a small drip problem.

Yes I have made up diaper containers to catch annoying drips.

Like one drip the size of a 50 cent piece every few days on the floor. Piss a guy off.

Stuff some foam rubber into a spam can and position that to catch the drip before it hits the floor.

Wash out or change the foam every oil change.

#1 biggest oil leaks are the factory wore out oil pressure sending units. Then pan gaskets/rear main, then transmission front seal or where ever in the hell that is leaking from.
