Got a question for any of you computer guru's out there in Mopar land, on the internet.
Both my desktop, and laptop computers both have Windows 7 in them.
Microsoft sent some automatic updates the other day that must have screwed up "settings" in both the computers.
I figured out the one that changed my Font settings.
Why it changed with the updates is beyond my pay grade to figure out in the computer world.

What it also changed is it won't allow me to reply, or make a posting in color print of my choosing, if i select a color that i want to use.
Doing it here, over at DodgeChargers.com, Moparts, also.

What changed in my computers?

Can i change everything back to the way that it was before?

Now you have gotta realize, that i am an old man, and not that kind of computer literate when it comes to this computer stuff.

Maybe someone can give me a lesson in computer college, straightening this out for me, the way i like to use my computer on all the web sites that i frequent.
Thank's a lot, in advance.

no idea what you changed...

but if you right click on the desktop background, and left click "personalize" in the little pop up menu, it will take you to where all those settings live

you can choose an aero theme there, which changes the colors around

at the lower left corner of that window, if you click "display" it lets you change the screen font sizes

I didn't change anything, Microsoft automatically did with their "update"

I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say.

Lets say i want to reply to this posting, in a color of my choosing.
It no longer will let me do that, when i click on any color that i want to write in.

That's what changed, and want to get back.

No biggie writing in black all the time, but i do like to highlight some of my stuff in a different color.

I hate it when these computers, and internet stuff, messes with me.

So in your post you can't high lite and choose a color from the option above?

Like this?

Are you using Internet Explorer? It may have updated to version 11 from 10 (or earlier) which could affect website interactions. If so, you can roll it back by either uninstalling it (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/internet-explorer/install-ie#ie=ie-10-win-7 , see the Uninstall Internet Explorer section) or use System Restore to turn back time to before the update happened (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows7/products/features/system-restore). Bear in mind, if you System Restore, you'll have to prepare for the same update installing again.

Could also try compatibility view first (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10-win-7).

Just restore your system to a date prior to installing the updates and disable the automatic updates. When you receive an update notice choose the advanced tab as it allows you to pick the updates you want and avoid the ones you don't. Been doing this for years.

Correct.
I no longer can do that, anything with the color option, of my choosing.

If i do a system restore, it will just do this to me all over again, whenever Microsoft want's to do their updates.

Again, I'm not that computer savvy in turning on or off computer programs.

Just wish they didn't do this to my computers. :angry4:

Start > Control Panel > Windows Update

On the left side click "Change Settings" and you can change update behavior there.

As earlier mentioned, System Restore, (Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore) can restore your system to it's settings before the update was installed, windows will always create a system restore point before installing any new updates.

Most of these forums are powered by VBulletin software. The change you see is in how i.e. and vbulletin work together. If Microsoft needs to correct it they will. If vbulletin needs to correct it they will. If the later is the case it will be each forums chore to update the vbulletin software they are running.

I'd start with a virus check and run malwarebytes.

Nothing wrong changing colors here.

Well, I'm 50% there.
Come to find out if i use the "Quick Reply" and then click on the little square box, with the slanted letter "A" in the upper right corner, that changes a setting to Switch Editor Mode, whatever that means.
Then i can click on the A icon that drops down the box with the color choices that you would like to use.
BUT, i still cannot print in color if i chose to use the regular "ADD REPLY" format at the left bottom of the postings page.
And still can't print in color, if i want to start a new topic, or post in color, if i want to, in the For Sale section.
Oh well, i'll keep plugging away with it, or live with it the way it is now.
I'm not a computer software programer, and don't understand computers, other than what i self taught myself how to use them, in what i do.

If i want to try and use color with ADD REPLY, this is all that i get, and my computers wont recognize the command that i want to print in a color of my choosing.
This is what shows up, as an example.
[Color"Blue"][/Color]

So, that's what's going on with my laptop, and desktop, even with me trying recommendations with members replies. :dontknow:

Hope this helps.
Default type is black. Notice how if you change to blue type the "color" jargon shows up, the same happens when you change back to black. Compare the next sentence to the picture of the text (what you see while typing) ..............

Everything typed will be blue until you change colors again

Don't think I'm explaining myself properly, to get my point across.

Yes, that "color" jargon shows up, but WILL NOT print at all in whatever color of my choosing.

That is what doesn't work for me when starting a new posting, or when using add reply.

It won't show up in the colour you have chosen until you post it. At least that is what is happening with mine.

Really, Don't think i have tried that.
That i wouldn't have thought of.
Everwhere else, the color of my choosing shows right up.
I will have to try a "test" posting after this, and see if it works.

Well, I'm trying this in the color Blue.
Let's see if it works or not.

If i see it in regular black, it didn't, and then I'm back to square one.

Nope, didn't work.
My computers just won't accept some "setting" when trying to post in color, in particular formats.
I'm not smart enough to figure that out, that's why i have been inquiring.

Hooray.
I got it figured out.
Don't really know what i did, or how i did it, but it will show up in color, using the Add Reply, when i post the copy.
Couldn't do it before, but as long as it works, I'm now a happy camper.
Thank's for everyones support, suggestions, help.
