Everything (drag racing, car show, spectator tickets, etc.) sold out for this event over a month ago. If you didn't already have tickets you weren't going to get in.
We had one guy walk up to our toy drive collection area and want to know where he could buy tickets to get in the Festival. Evidently he had already paid for parking but didn't have tickets to get in.
The Fairplex opened the vehicle gates to park at 8AM, but didn't open the gates to let people into the Festival until 10AM. There were thousands waiting in line to go through the metal detectors when they finally opened the gates...and some of them weren't too happy after standing in line for two hours.
People continued to arrive throughout the day, and were still coming in for the concert portion of the Festival when we finally left just before 6PM.
