Anybody have an old Cushman scooter?

I think they are way cool. A buddies dad had one andgave me a ride when I was about 10. Have had a place for them in my heart since.

If your interested in looking at some used and restored Cushman's,
google Dennis Carpenter Ford Reproduction's........ they reproduce
alot of their own Cushman part's there too. I believe you can also
get a free Cushman catalog too, by filling out their catalog registration
info card.I think it's still free. If anything, it's fun to look and go back to the good ole day's

I'm about to get started working on my old barn find Cushman. It is a 1959 Pacemaker. It's in pretty rough shape but better than some of the old mopars I've resurrected....lol. I've got a 13.5 HP motor to replace the missing 5 HP original motor. If I can figure out how to post a picture I'll do so later.

There was a Cushman club here in Tuscaloosa. They would ride through when we had a Cruise In. Probably 25 of them. The man that had lots of them and started the club died. His name was Mr Nelson Campbell from Tuscaloosa,Al. There has been articles in The Tuscaloosa News about them so you may Google if interested, Joe

I understand he had a fairly large collection. He owned Campbell & Associates which was a construction and equipment rental. I worked next door for McAbee Construction for over 12 years

Mr Cushman lived on the first floor of our building on Miami Beach untill his death in the 70s. He had a three wheeler parked on the pool deck right outside his living room. His Male attendant was a musician who occasionally hung out with us in the AC shaft.
