Anyone own a vehicle with a hand-crank starter?

My dad's 61 Triumph TR3A has the optional hand crank. Great for setting the valves, pretty rough way of starting the car. Car also has a rubber button on the starter solenoid, even better for setting the valves.

It would be interesting to find out what the newest vehicle which had a functioning hand crank. I think my 74 Courier would if the radiator was not in the road, or perhaps there was no hole in the bumper. The tire winch/ jack wrench was the crank

The Jalopy Journal started right off with a '72 Citroen

History - Last hand crank

Then jumped to an '80's Russian Lada......"figures" LOL

One of the tractors we had when I was a kid had a magneto on it and had to be cranked to start. a bigger one sat w/ a dead battery for a while, my dad cranked it and didn`t have his thumb on the same side of the handle as his fingers, it back fired and knocked all his end finger joints down for life. Yes Virginia, there is a right and wrong way to hand crank an engine .

Agree, thumb in line with fingers.

My dad had a Hillman in the '60's (an English car, part of Rootes Group, who built Sunbeams and the Plymouth Cricket!), it had a slot in the bottom of the grille where you could put the handle they supplied into the snout of the crank.
