Putting together a 70 dart that I want to be fast but can be a very nice daily driver and rides and handlew well. Need to up grade torsion bars and a friend has a pair of basicly new .920.. Any opinions will be appreciated.

what engine and trans combo? the factory used .890 bars in big block cars. i think our cars were grossly under sprung from the factory. i would go bigger than the .920 if it was me with a big or small block. i have a 383 with alum. heads, intake, waterpump and radiator along with a fiberglass hood, bumper and brackets. my big block now weighs less than a factory small block. i have .990 bars in my car and i plan to go even bigger in the future.

That's a subjective question. I have .890" bars with my big block A. Including sway bars, I find it plenty stiff. What's too stiff (or not stiff enough) for one person might be just right for another.

Sounds like the .920 will do for what I want. Thanks for your input. I have a nice running 340 with mild cam and aluminum edelbrock heads. I have several darts and am trying to put one together that is really nice, corners nice, rides nice, a/c etc.
Thanks,
Greg

I had 920's for ten years, just upgraded to 1.06's. I think you will be happy with the 920's unless you are autocrossing or hitting a road course.

I would rather have .920s than the .890s I have for my Barracuda, but the price was right and I let my son sell his slightly used .990s years ago. So, no I do not believe they will be too stiff, but maybe just right.
