ive never built a /6 , but i just put together a 440, and that thrust bearing is way wrong. it should fit snug in the grooves. the rest look wrong as well.

what are you building? if it is a cast crank engine, after 77, you may have bearings for a forged crank.

are you sure that is not a 76 block?
A 68 forged crank will not work in a 76 cast crank block, without much machining work, and I'm not sure even then.

Take a good look at the block. How many freeze plugs does it have? What is the casting date? There should be some numbers stamped on a pad at the passenger side front of the block deck. What do they say?

Looking at similar pics of my forged crank block makes me think yours is the later cast crank style.
