My grandson put gas in our '73 scamp while the station was getting a delivery, and unknowingly added the stirred up tank gunk along with the gas. Needless to say, the car then started coughing, farting and stalling. He hadn't added very much gas, and I think I drained it all out. Any suggestions for what to do next? Thanks in advance for any help.

Change fuel filter if you haven't. Keep a couple fuel filters on hand. The station should have had filters on their pumps . You might want to change where you get fuel.

try some refried beans, those are always good for bad gas

(someone had to say it)

My brother got some bad gas at a station, he took the gas receipt back to them along with his poorly running car and they paid to get his fuel system flushed.

It's probably just water, the filters on the pump shouldn't pass garbage, take what you drained out and put it in a jar with a lid and let it set over night and the water will go to the bottom, this will verify water. add alcohol to the gas and put fresh gas in it and you should be o.k. the alcohol will disperse the water.

Damn, I just ate 2 chili burgers!

Our gas stations have huge canister filters/seperators on the pumps. I cant imagine the station passed along the crud to you through the pump? Replace filter, probably needed it anyway.

Change the filter. Then go to O'Reilly and get a bottle of HEET in the RED bottle. It's cheap and works good.
