bad master cylinder

driving to work saturday went to stop and pedal hit the floor with only a little stopping power /manual drum all the way around/ so i got it bach home and assume the master cylinder is bad tried to remove it from firewall and had a little difficulty finally the whole piston came out of the cylinder is there a trick to remove plunger from actuator rod anyhelp would be great

well 22 views later and one phonecall told me it was just old age ,lol will get it fixed in morning thanks anyway everybody have a great week, thanks green1 i owe you.
